Primary Processing

Cutting Drilling/Boring Turning Chamfering

We can get you one step closer to the finished component with our in house primary processing operations;

Cutting

We have invested in dedicated cutting technology to efficiently process your cutting requirements, letting your skilled staff concentrate on the expert engineering they’re trained for. Other advantages include:

  • Our customers avoid hidden costs and scrap
  • Our high machine utilisation makes the cost to you as low as possible
  • No minimum processing quantity, we can cut from 1 to 10,000 blanks
  • Our customers hold less stock, improving cash flow
  • Quality materials and on-time deliveries

Drilling/Boring

Rough machine billets to improve efficiency for the customer. Produce bore dimensions from 19.05mmØID up to 114.3mmØID. Bore depth depends on the diameter of a drill bit. Depth increases as drill bit diameter increase. Max bore depth is 360mm (bore through up to 700mm long pieces by drilling from both ends). Max diameter that lathe can hold is 700mmØ (Herbert Lathe) and 500mmØ (Swedturn lathe).

Turning

Max diameter that can be turned is 500mmØ on Swedturn lathe. Length of material to be turned is dependent on diameter, ie. 200mm long for 500mmØ, whereas smaller diameters (<100mmØ) can be 1m long.

Chamfering

Chamfer bar ends from 12mmØ up to 60mm diameter for automatic bar feed purposes. Material length and weight restrictions apply for reasons of health and safety.
